That’s what I think

The following is a reply (also shared on Kooiii) that I have posted to an article on imutopia.com. Since I do not see my comments being received well by an internet marketing blog, I feel very strongly that others should have the opportunity to read my ideas and comment on them. You might decide to write me off as a lunatic who knows nothing of which he speaks but you should bear in mind that I am a real PROSPECT who does make the occasional online purchase and who does find the world of internet marketing most peculiarly self absorbed. Thank God my local shops do not sell in the same way internet marketers tyry to sell to me – I would probably starve to death while reading thousands of 400 to 600 word articles about bread!

My comment is as follows:-

Article marketing is a very devalued way of using a scarce resource – your time.

Before you set out down this road, you have to ask yourself WHO your article is aimed at. If internet marketers are honest with themselves (something they are very reluctant to be) they will know that they write articles for OTHER internet marketers, hoping that they will spread the word (to even more internet marketers!)

The whole field of internet marketing FAILS ABYSSMALLY at addressing the audience it NEEDS to talk to – ordinary people who buy things online, otherwise known as PROSPECTS!

A prospect does not want a “short article”. A prospect wants a full blown and detailed account of what the article is about and, if it is trying to sell something, WHY he should buy it!

Internet marketers are living in a strange world of their own creation in which they see the prospect as a brainless cow to be led by the nose through a sales funnel! ONLY other internet marketers are stupid enough to buy as the result of a link in a small signature on a short article containing no valuable information.

Article marketing will only work when the article is designed to entertain, inform and sell. Most articles on most article sites are nothing but pulp to fluff out the pages of a worthless blog. Even worse, it is staggering that most internet marketers will take a poor quality article, feed it through a spinner a few times and create a series of pathetically unreadable offerings which they will post without even checking.

Article marketing is only as effective as the amount of effort you put in to create valuable, entertaining and informative, full length articles. A 600 word article is an insult to your prospect and implies he has a lack of perception of value.

I would love to read some feed back and those who know me will know that I even value opinions expressed in expletives. Incandescence is another word for inarticulate.
