A bear dumps in the woods – not his den!

For the last few weeks I have been visiting one of my old stomping grounds – a site called Apsense – and have been amazed at the ignorance and stupidity that is on display there for all to see.

I have never been a great lover of internet marketing as sold by the “gurus” and “flash-git money makers” but even they could never have imagined how their products would virtually destroy a whole industry.

Did the gurus really think it through when they sold wannabes the idea that the way to get known was to post to forums and blogs without including the simple caveat that the posts must be relevant, unique and of interest? This one aspect of guru “greed” satisfaction is the reason that sites like Apsense have been totally demasculated and reduced to the level of third rate safe list. Visit Apsense and look at the “Articles” that are being posted by the members (contrary to terms of service). Almost without exception, the articles are blatant adverts and usually copied and pasted from web sites.

If you like to follow a discussion, don’t bother going to Apsense. You will find that there are very few intellegent comments made to articles. You will also find that the original poster has no idea at all what he or she was promoting. The level of endemic ignorance is staggering!

One very sad aspect of Apsense is that the members do not know any better. They really do think that they are running a business. While the originators of ponzis and pyramids can make a lot of money, we all know that most members lose everything when the schemes inevitably collapse.

Add to the mix all the other guru nonsense like positive thinking, free stuff, copy and paste campaigns, instant web sites, review sites and all the schlock promising money for nothing and it becomes obvious that sites like Apsense are doomed to be the last resort of the desperate and disaffected.

It was a mistake to visit Apsense. It was, however, very enlightening as to the self destructive nature of internet marketers.

There are good gurus out there but their influence is totally lacking in sites like Apsense which have been taken over by the stupid and ignorant.
