This news story about the ‘Big Society’ so beloved of David Cameron is nothing more than the evidence (if any was required) of just how bankrupt of ideas this man is when it comes to the welfare of the people he is supposed to represent. He seems to be totally ignorant of the fact that thousands of British people make massive contributions to the aid of others and towards the improvement of the social scene.
It doesn’t bother him that many British people, as well as voluntarily supporting those who deserve help, are forced to support the feckless and work-shy through the horrendous levels of tax that they have to pay.
It is unfortunate that Cameron is continuing with the cynical labour Party ploy of encouraging massive illegal immigration in order to try to boost his party’s share of the vote. Any illegal immigrant getting into the UK knows damn well that they will be ‘regularised’ and then be ‘entitled’ to all the social benefits – some of which are denied to the British population.
If Cameron really is interested in supporting the people he is supposed to represent, he will take immediate steps to ensure that, as a very minimum requirement, at least two full years’ of National Insurance contributions have been paid. He needs to listen to the complaints about the working population being forced to support those who have never made any contribution to the country. He needs to ensure that the rules on asylum seekers are applied so that France and Holland cannot turn a blind eye when asylum seekers pass through their countries into the UK. He needs to study the French immigration model so that he can understand how they treat illegals and how they effortlessly palm them off on a progressively more cash-strapped UK population.
The ideology of politicians like Blair and Cameron is the slow (but faster) burning fuse to the powder keg that is British patience.
