What is the true cost?

What is the true cost?

Do you have a business web site that is being serviced by an SEO expert? SEO, you know, search engine optimisation!

Apart from costing you a lot of money, do you really understand what this expert is telling you?

He is telling you that he can fiddle about with the under-pinnings of your web site so that it gets more visitors or becomes Nº1 on Google – and he is making it sound really interesting, isn”t he? Well, that”s his job and he gets paid, by you, for convincing you that he is doing something that will benefit you.

What do more visitors to your web site mean for you?

Have you been given the impression that they are all credit card wielding, rabid desirers after your most expensive product? If only that were true! What does being Nº1 on Google mean to you?

Have you been told that it will make your site more visible to the credit card wielding, rabid desirers after your most expensive product? If only that, also, were true!

To make more profit you know, as well as I do, that you must cut your expenses and find more cash customers. Would it not make sense to you to cut expenses rather than increase them when times are hard?

So why is everybody and his pet poodle telling you to spend more on SEO, your web site and advertising?

They will tell you it is to help you weather the storm and come out the other side stronger, leaner and more efficient. In reality, it is because they want to weather the storm at your expense and blind you with statistics, smoke and mirrors in the process.

If you pay €5,000 euros for SEO and your bottom line profit is 3.7% of gross takings, that SEO has to give you €135,135.14 in additional gross takings for your bottom line profit figure to simply be maintained. Will it do that?

If you cut your expenses by €5,000, can you see that you are actually increasing your effective gross takings by €135,135.14 and, if you were also shown where to find additional cash customers, do you think your profits might improve?
